Amagami Ported To The PSP

Posted on September 7th, 2010 by chylle

Popular love simulation game, Amagami by Enterbrain Inc. is now being ported to the PSP after much success. Enjoy a love filled high school life now on the go. Amagami was a Play Station 2 exclusive visual novel from the makers of Kimikiss, another hit love simulation game. Amagami garnered a huge following that it spawned several manga titles, drama CDs, and most recently, a 24 episode anime series produced by studio AIC entitled Amagami SS.

You play as Tachibana Junichi a second year in High School who had a sad experience with love on a Christmas day 2 years ago. Forlorn and devastated by the experience, he is reluctant to pursue with love until recently. Experiences he makes with one of six girls in his school could possibly rekindle his loving heart once more.

The game reintroduces a dynamic flow system where choosing locations and events in a day are solely handled by the player, either conversing with one of the girls or some of the other sub-characters you can strike a conversation or play one of many mini-games that is allotted to the player. Conversations with the girls are also the same with the PS2 system wherein the player has the freedom to choose the flow of the conversation and with that, change the girls’ tension towards the player. Well-played conversations in some scenes nets the player with a special event, mostly accompanied with a special CG scene. With over 70 story lines to go through, replayability will not be an issue.

An added feature for the PSP is scrolling CG scenes via the analog stick which solved constraints with some scenes that were too big for the PSP screen. Additional elements also include new art from the PS2 as well as a mahjong game mode. And to those still asking, yes, it will be voiced; rejoice people!

That is one heck of a love game system. This isn’t your ordinary “choose-your-reply” kind of dating sims which has been the standard issue for years. Sure hope that they have an English release for this. I just finished the anime and it was wonderful.
