Bounty Hounds PH: Call to Arms Manila

So Colocoy had invitation powers and we just had to tag along. Colocoy, Chylle, and I went to the Manila LAUNCH of Level-Up’s new game, BOUNTY HOUNDS ONLINE.

Last January 7, a gathering of Gamers, Guild Leaders and Game Masters was set at Max’s Fried Chicken Restaurant in Intramuros, Manila. With Colocoy managing remind us, we were able to join the event. A casual bystander would’ve easily mistaken the event for a birthday party; but the fact of the matter is: Level-Up has once again returned to their great habit of connecting with the community via various gatherings and promotions in different parts of the country. Manila and Batangas witnessed this first hand.

Now I know you might be thinkin’ “Oh hey, wasn’t that a PSP game last 2006?” and you’re absolutely right! Originally ported for the PSP, Bounty Hounds receives its new face as an MMO CBT released late this year on northern shore servers starting around August 2011. As far as activity is concerned, EU servers seem to be leading this campaign.

It was a small gathering of gamers and shop owners. All BHO GMs were present to facilitate the meet, and FHM Philippine’s October babe Apple Angeles once again graced the venue as the face of Bounty Hounds PH. If you recall, she was also in LevelUp! Live 2011 and the pre-launch event of BHO.

This engagement was short and sweet. There were photo ops with the model and the GMs, a nice loot bag filled with BHO merchandise, numerous raffles, and mini-games. The loot bags had the very first batch of BHO installers, fresh from Levelup!, a couple of beta pass cards, some stickers, a nifty lanyard and a cool poster. There were a lot of BHO shirts and jackets raffled off to lucky winners. And GM Xairam’s Pinoy Henyo mini-game turned the crowd into a close-knit community of gamers.
Just like the previous pre-launch event, the main highlight was a presentation and explanation of Bounty Hounds Online and its features. GM Mad Max did the presentation, and dropped a few revealing hints on the game’s future.
To note, the closed beta testing may run for a short 2 weeks only, with open beta launching by the end of January or 1st week of February.
Another launch event, in a grander scale with free play opportunities, will be scheduled come February, possibly the 18th or the 20th.
Watch out for our grand review of Bounty Hounds Online!
