Da Capo 2 [Visual Novel Review]
Welcome to Hatsune Island, a place known for their cherry blossom trees blooming all year round. But the mystery of the trees do not end there, rumor says that the trees can grant wishes and happiness to people in the island. However, good things don’t always come for free.
You’ll play the role of Yoshiyuki Sakurai, a typical high school adopted by a beautiful, hardworking principal, Yoshino Sakura. As his daily life goes on, you will meet these lovely heroines: Asakura Otome, a responsible big sister (not by blood) and student council president together with her younger sister, Asakura Yume; Yukimura Anzu who is known for her amazing memory; the campus idol, Shirakawa Nanaka; the cute but shy girl, Tsukishima Koko, and Amakase Minatsu, a mysterious robot whom you accidentally awaken.
Colocoy thinks:
I find Da Capo 2’s story is pretty interesting and enticing. The story of each heroine is simple but very touching and heart-warming. Each arc has their own problems or challenges but still revolves on the same main plot of the cherry blossom trees. Looking at the novel’s art, I find some of them a little distorted. Take Anzu’s face as an example; although it doesn’t particularly distract to the point of destroying my mood reading the novel. But the art for the backgrounds were fantastically rendered. Sounds were tuned beautifully and were timed perfectly with the appropriate scenes. For guys looking forward to H-scenes, I think you might be a little disappointed.
