Cyberzone Cosplay Tour in Baguio! \^^/

I only got a few good pics thanks to my memory card failing me. ~_~ But anyhow, here are some of the pics of the cosplayers I got.

There were 29 who registered in the online pre-registration, but there were only 16 who registered and competed on the day of the event. The cosplay event itself was a bit fast-paced, with the cosplayers only given 30seconds to perform. There were several flying weapons (Sasuke’s kunai, Sanosuke’s sword, and Darth Maul’s light saber to name a few), but thankfully, there were no casualties. The program started around 3:30pm and ended roughly around 5:00pm. It was a mess of cosplayers and fans right after, even after the photo op was moved to Cyberzone. Most comment that the cosplay event could have been better organized, and I agree. But at the same time, it’s also only the third cosplay event here in Baguio, and like how trees start to grow from seeds pushing out of the soil, so will things grow into better things in the future.

First place went to Patrick James Lim who cosplayed as (the ever famous) Uchiha Sasuke from Naruto. Second place was a tie between Quintin Tanseco who cosplayed Darth Maul from Star Wars and Richal Ortiz Tamayo who cosplayed as Hime from Princess Resurrection. Patrick will be participating in the Finals on August 28, 2010 at SM Megamall. Congratulations to the winners and good luck!
