Grand Chase PH: Know your Limits
Grand Chase servers all over the world are preparing for the world tournament that will take place in Korea. Hence the regional tourneys called “Digmaan” were held to look for the best team to represent the Philippines for the international leg.
August 14, 2011, all winners from regional, online and wildcard selections went on a final tourney for the title of Philippines’ Grand Chase representative. In the end, team NIHIROSHI and team ShoCaNats faced each other in the final match. At first, team ShoCaNats held the upper hand with the score of 3 – 0 (race to 4 wins rule) then suddenly team NIHIROSHI turned the tables around and won the match with a 4 -3 score.
Some of the players suspected the team of using a program called “Net Limiter,” which caused lag to the game and gave a certain player the upper hand on the match. Illegal advantages of the Net Limiter included a “teleport-like” movement of the character from point A to B while other players are completely unaware of the said movement. Due to this, GCPH announced :
Video replays will be uploaded after the review of the Tournament Head Judge tomorrow for further processing to check if no anomalies or malicious tactics has been used. In any circumstances that a fault or malicious tactics has been played, they will be disqualified. Requirements needed shall be accomplished by the champs and if in any way that they are unable to do so, the next team shall take their place. The final decision regarding this would be posted this week. Thank you.
As of August 15, 2011, the GCPH team announced their final decision:
Good day to all Chasers,
As we all know, we recently held the Grand Chase World Championships 2011 – Philippine Leg last August 14 at 1pm. This is the road and avenue for players to showcase their talents as gamers of Grand Chase as we bring them to Korea to compete for the prestigious title, Grand Chase World Champions. This is a big deal to many gamers from all over the Philippines and all over the world. This is not even a joke or just any other gaming competition.
The tournament was a success, yes no doubt. But there are other factors to consider for this tournament. We already reviewed and processed the video replays for the semi-finals and finals round. The [GM]Team already talked this over which led us to this final decision.
All teams has been warned that any malicious and nasty tactics during the tournament would merit them a disqualification and a suspension of their accounts. A warning has been given to you to regarding cheating or using any third party software when competing. The [GM]Team wanted a clean game because using dirty tactics would only mean that you are very desperate to win and that you are willing to set aside your team’s name and dignity. Remember that we are holding this tournament to decide on who will represent our country in the upcoming Grand Chase World Championship. At this point, you are no longer carrying just your name or your team name, but the name of your country, the name of Grand Chase Philippines.
Judging by the replays of each match, we have gathered enough evidence to reach this final decision:
- Team NIHIROSHI will be disqualified as the Philippine representatives for the Grand Chase World Championships 2011 and they will be removed from the DIGMAAN National Tournament 2011 at Level Up! Live. Also, their accounts will be temporarily suspended.
With this, the succeeding team shall take their place. Team [MasterMind] ShoCaNats will represent Grand Chase Philippines in the coming Grand Chase World Championships 2011 in Korea. In any way that they are unable to fulfill their duties as the country’s representatives, the next team will garner this position.
We only gave this announcement and decision now because we are hoping that a clean match will be played by all participants and that each participant will show fairness in every match. But due to unfortunate circumstances, we have to result to this.
Thank you.
-[GM]Team
Therefore the representative of Grand Chase Philippines for the International Tournament will be Team ShoCaNats.
We at Otakultura are happy for team ShoCaNats for playing fair and winning the Philippine Digmaan Tournament. We are wishing you the best in the World Grand Chase Tournament. Good Luck!
