Welcome to the Manga edition of Relevant to My Interests! In this issue, Colocoy discusses about the recent chapters from Katekyo Hitman Reborn!

Target 323: Small Animal

The battle continues between Kyoya Hibari of the Vongola Family bearing the Cloud Flame and Adelheid Suzuki of the Shimon Family bearing the Glacier Flame. From the last chapter, Hibari proved that the 500 ice clones of Adelheid won’t even be considered as a threat for him. Now he charges towards Adelheid’s ultimate defense called Diamond Castle. Unfortunately, no matter how strong Hibari’s attacks are, he only managed to create cracks. His teammates, including Reborn, are worried that he will drain his stamina even before he could land a hit on Adelheid given the fact that she can recreate her ice clones. After all of that, Hibari just smiled and showed them that everything was moving according to his plan. He thought that the Diamond Castle was only strong on the outside but weak inside. He actually made those “cracks” so that he can insert the clones of his animal box weapon; Roll (a porcupine with metal spikes. Upon his signal, the clones grew and destroyed the Diamond Castle.

Colocoy thinks:

To tell you the truth, I am very, very disappointed in this match. I was expecting a hard melee battle between the two. Then Adelheid revealed her power that was more on defense. On the bright side, I was surprised at Hibari’s speeches (who would’ve thought that he really does respect Tsuna like that). The special “features” of his tonfas that were forgotten in the last future arc were shown again (the spike feature was first shown with his battle with Rokudo Mokuro and the chain feature at the Varia Arc).

Target 324: Betrayal

After the match of Hibari and Adelheid concluded, the Vendice came to get and imprison the loser of the battle. In return, they will reveal an important key to find out the truth what really happened between the two mafia families, Vongola and Shimon.

The key this time was an ink well and immediately showed a flashback. It was the time where the war between families when Shimon Cozart decided to help his friend Giotto, then Vongola Primo. Unfortunately, the Shimon family ends up being trapped in the middle enemy troops. Giotto was really worried, to the point that he decided that he will save the Shimon himself. But his mist guardian, Daemon Spade, disagreed and said that a reckless move can crush their army’s morale. Instead he volunteered himself to save the Shimon.

After the flashback, Adelheid could not believe what she just saw. Every one of them believed that the Vongola Primo abandoned the Shimon and that is the reason why they are trying to avenge their fallen family.  Suddenly, Hibari noticed someone and threw a handcuff as a warning. Kaito Julie and Chrome (currently brainwashed) revealed themselves. Adelheid asked Kaito to take care of Enma (the 10th boss of the Shimon Family). Kaito agreed but he also revealed his unsightly secret. He revealed his true self as Daemon Spade, the first (and second?) mist guardian of the Vongola family and also revealed that he was responsible of the conflict between the two families. He explained that he considered Cozart being friends with Giotto as a threat to the Vongola’s growth of power that’s why he must eliminate the “threat” in order to protect the family. He was enjoying their reactions when Kaoru (a guardian of Shimon) stabbed him at the back in the last page of the chapter.

Colocoy thinks:

This chapter has a lot of revelations (including the fact that Kaito was actually Adelheid’s lover! That really made go “WTF?!”), which caused the story to twist. It would have been better if the author didn’t reveal on the previous chapters about Kaito being Daemon Spade. If she included that revelation in this chapter, it might have given the readers a lot more impact. I still can’t comment more so far but this chapter really makes me itch to read the next one.

Target 325: Opposition

Mizuno Kaoru managed to stab Daemon Spade’s back due to his rage when Daemon said that he was just using Shimon. Unfortunately, that was only an illusion; Kaoru was the one stabbed by Daemon with his spear. He revealed that he’s not only capable of using the Mist of the seven elements of the sky but he can also use the desert of the seven elements of the earth which makes him superior compare to anyone else.  Hibari found it interesting so he wanted to fight against Daemon but Daemon said that it’s impossible for Hibari since he almost used all of his energy. Though he thought that it would be possible for all of them to beat him so he asked Chrome, who is currently under his control, to cast Cortina Nebia or a Mist Barrier, a skill that blocks anyone from crossing it. If anyone destroys it, the caster’s life will be in danger.

Tsuna on the other hand was trying to talk to Chrome but she replied that she belongs to Daemon including Rokudo Mokuro’s body. And then Daemon said that he will take over Mokuro’s body as his new vessel but Hibari said that it won’t happen since Mokuro is his prey. Kaoru once again tried to stab Daemon yet he failed. Daemon transformed his spear into a scythe and slashed Kaoru giving him a fatal wound. Adelheid, currently chained by the Vendice, was begging Kaoru to run for his life. Daemon was about to deliver his final blow when an unexpected person came and rescued Kaoru, it was Yamamoto Takeshi. Of course, everyone was shocked including Daemon since they thought that Yamamoto was on the verge of death and here he is now trying to save the person responsible for it. Kaoru asked Yamamoto why did he save him despite of that, but he replied it is natural for him to help Kaoru since they are friends to begin with. Kaoru cried after hearing that (manly tears).

Colocoy thinks:

We almost became gay because of this chapter! Just kidding! But just like what I’ve said for the last chapter, this is the development I’ve been expecting. On the other hand, I agree with Chylle when we saw Daemon’s illusion techniques, it’s Aizen (villain from Bleach)! Why is it that Vongola Mist Guardians are always the bad ass ones anyways? And also I find the Mist Barrier pretty lame. I mean, a more powerful technique has greater risk, right? But it’s just a barrier! It’s not like sealing a soul together with yours in a shinigami belly, right? Nonetheless, the main star of this chapter is Yamamoto. Finally one of the best characters in KHR is back in the scene and looking forward on revealing how the hell he recovered.
