Persona 4 Anime Revealed

On the few weeks preceding April 11, a strange website, Mayonaka TV Channel, appeared on the web with the strange likeness of a certain game’s TV logo as well as a count down.

Besides that, by some strange slip-up of some sorts or whatever, a mobile website made the ‘slip’ be it intentional or not to which it announces the anime to be produced by Aniplex.

Regardless, the countdown timer continues to dwindle down to April 11, the initial starting date of Persona 4′s game. As the clock hit midnight, people witnessed the TV clock update with a clickable channel button. This causes the TV screen to warp into a familiar hypnotic effect that then redirects the viewers to…. -cue drumroll-

Although this announcement was a bit anticlimactic with the lack of a trailer to accompany this release, nevertheless, this reveal for the latest persona anime is a good one indeed as fans all over the world rejoice. The cast will reprise their roles for the anime with the inclusion of Daisuke Namikawa [浪川大輔] (Italy from Hetalia, Kazehaya from Kimi ni Todoke) to voice cast as the main protagonist. AIC ASTA (Sora no Otoshimono, Bamboo Blade) will also handle animation production, that will be directed by Seiji Kishi (Seto no Hanayome, Angel Beats). Musical composition will also be handled by the game’s composer, Shoji Meguro. One can expect quality animation, quirky humor, as well as great music which are likely guaranteed already.

Adapting the story with its multi social link route and in-game choices will be difficult to squeeze in to an anime, what fans fear is a butchered and chopped finished product. Though we can all hope for the best in this upcoming project. This being the second Persona anime from Atlus, fans are also hoping for this renewed interest in the Persona titles to spawn more content – possibly Persona 5 for those praying hard.
