Playkultur: More Street Fighter X Tekken

CAPTIVATE 2011 had a ton of videogame offerings, but to Capcom enthusiasts, nothing can outlast the much-anticipated crossover: Street Fighter X Tekken. More characters have been revealed to join the crossover roster, namely: Guile, Abel, Bob, Marduk, King (apart from the already-previewed Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, Nina and Kazuya).

Looking at the gameplay preview, SFXT feels a lot like Street Fighter 4. Fluid 2D movement in a 3D environment, fast-paced and high-powered fight scenes with hundreds of possible combos. Players need not worry about the learning curve, since Capcom has kept the movelist loyal to their specific games. Also, an interesting feature to the game is an alternate method of executing a super move. Characters can charge up their attacks to turn it into a move equivalent to a super move. Take, for example, Ryu’s Hadouken. Charge it up for a good 4 seconds, and it turns into the motherload of fireballs. Well… that is, if anyone CAN charge up that long without getting hit, since the charge up maneuver makes the character vulnerable. Good thing the ol’ special bar is still present.

Watch out for SFXT this 2012. No specific release date as of yet, but for now, enjoy the gallery and the videos!
