A few days ago, Namco Bandai announced the upcoming Hunter x Hunter game for the Playstation Portable.
Dubbed “HUNTERxHUNTER Wonder Adventure” 「 HUNTER×HUNTER ワンダーアドベンチャー 」, the game is in conjunction with the latest iteration of the anime series. Wonder Adventure is an action adventure game, where players can control one of the four main characters of the HxH series: Gon, Killua, Leorio, and Kurapika. It follows the story of the first season, that of the Hunter Exam, and the four characters’ adventure in it.
Each character has their own combat specialty. Gon is a physical/melee fighter that uses a fishing rod for a weapon; Killua relies on high speed/high agility attacks; Leorio also does melee but is more attuned to healing and support; and Kurapika can dish out AOE damages with his dual-wielding weapons. Players can only select two of the four characters on screen, one as a main and the other as support or back-up. It’s up to the players on how to surpass the challenges in every level using the characters selected. The strengths and weaknesses of each character will definitely be highlighted in-game, and there might be instances wherein the strength of one character is actually required to easily advance to the next objective.
HUNTERxHUNTER Wonder Adventure will be out for the PSP on September 20th. Pre-ordering the game will give purchasers a limited edition custom theme to be downloaded on the Playstation Network. The limited edition add-on is in limited quantity, however.
