Light novel series, Maoyuu Maou Yuusha (まおゆう魔王勇者) by Touno Mamare has been announced that it will receive an anime adaptation produced by Pony Canyon. Other details concerning the staff and cast has not yet been announced.
The story revolves in a medieval fantasy setting between an on-going war between humans and demons. The Hero, after a long journey, finally confronts the Demon Queen only to discover that she wants his help to look for a solution to end the war and animosity between them. They then go out in a mission to end the war and suffering between their people using economics, technology, politics, and other revolutionary philosophies to reach a brighter future.
The series was first published in a web forum before Enterbrain published the series in print on 2010. The series has since released 5 volumes and sold more than 450,000 copies, spawned 5 manga series and a drama CD.
