Rurouni Kenshin Film Sequel Announced

Dec 6, 2012

It looks like we’ll see more of Kenshin and the rest of the gang pretty soon.
In a recently-held XVIII Salon del Manga de Barcelona, Mediatres Studio, the Spanish distributor for the Samurai X film, surprised the attendees by revealing that a Rurouni Kenshin sequel has been greenlit.

Mediatres further explained that the sequel, already in the works, will be “true to the manga.” Unfortunately, no other details have been revealed by Mediatres during the revelation.
The news comes as no surprise, with Rurouni Kenshin garnering around $61.7 million with its limited international release, owing around $36.7 million of it from the Japan release alone.
The film’s gross income still excludes US ticket sales, since its premiere will be in the upcoming LA Eigafest running from December 14-16. In the Philippines, the movie is having a limited run exclusively at SM Cinemas from December 5 to 9.

Blu-Ray and DVD packages for the Rurouni Kenshin film will also be released in Japan a day after Christmas.

Will we be witnessing a Kyoto/Juppon Gatana Arc in the making? Keeping our fingers crossed then.

Please put years on the dates. It’s confusing and the grammar doesn’t help.

      Three things:
      1. Grammar’s fine.
      2. Look at the post date. It wouldn’t be news if it wasn’t a current event. Surely you can already surmise the year based on the publishing date, right?
      3. You just necro’d a post from last year.

  2. It’s gotta be the Kyoto Arc!! I’m so happy that this will be done!
