Superhero Taisen: First Scans
News of a crossover movie between Kamen Rider and Super Sentai have been floating around the net since last year, prior to the release of Fourze and OOO: Movie Taisen Megamax. After a lot of rumor-mongering and news-scouring, actor Masahiro Inoue hinted on his blog about the chance to play as Decade once again! Other trickles of news and rumors came by, solidifying the possibility of the two tokusatsu genres crossing over. Dubbed Superhero Taisen, this is probably the largest clash of tokusatsu heroes ever created for film.
Filming began at the start of the year. Prior to official press releases, our passing-through Rider gave us this teaser picture:

showing his make-up, hairstyle, and jacket. This raised a big question: Is Decade returning to his DaiShocker ways?!
This leaves us with the first magazine scans of the film.

True to Inoue’s picture, the scan above has confirmed Decade’s return to DaiShocker as their great leader. A certain Doctor G has recruited the past Kamen Riders to join DaiShocker too! Taking a turn for the worse, Captain Marvelous of Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger seems to be the leader of the newly-formed Great Zangyack! Freshly-revived sentai enemies comprise this new galactic army, some of which are: Waruzo and Akudos Giru, Buredoran (Goseiger), and Doukoku (Shinkenger)! The bottom part of the scan shows a group picture of Gobusters fighting against Decade, Gentaro fending off some Goumins (grunts from Gokaiger), and a group of kaijin (with Goumins and Sugoumins) invading Amanogawa High (Fourze’s school).

The second scan shows us more teaser images: Double, Kabuto, Kiva, Kuuga and Faiz in their bikes; Kiva and Double fighting GoRed (Gorangers); an appearance from Meteor; and Fourze’s Elec State fighting GokaiRed (partially cut off in the picture).
If we were base our speculations from previous Kamen Rider and Super Sentai film plots, it might be safe to say that there is a central antagonist pulling the strings from behind the curtains of this tokusatsu war. How the two sides come to realize this is still beyond us.
The film is slated for an April 1 premiere. (Whether this is an elaborate April Fool’s prank, we’ll know in due time)
The first teaser trailer doesn’t help either. It’s filled with stock footage, and a one-liner script from Marvelous.
