TRIAL: Tales of Grace Instant Curry
In this episode of TRIAL I had to find something that we normally couldn’t find around here. Busy people these days want to eat something that can be prepared quickly, and it must be savory and satisfying. My trip to Little Tokyo proved that and I found this.

Dark Choco anyone? I scoured various groceries within Manila and found two interesting dark chocolate snacks from Japan! After 9,784,042 steps and paces because I don’t have much money for commuting, I was able to find an Otona no Amasa Kitkat and a Gokuboso Pocky. One thing they both have in common is that they are dark chocolate flavored!
So what about Pocky sticks? Don’t they all taste the same? Like the Pucca I’ve reviewed earlier, there is a distinct difference between Southeast Asian (SEA) Pocky and Japanese (JP) Pocky. In this episode of TRIAL, I dissected every detail to discern the taste of each variant. So what’s the difference between the two?
In this article of TRIAL, shrimp-high Food Inquisitor Prawnt pits two snacks of the same family together! Pucca, a snack made by Meiji is a small pretzel biscuit with chocolate inside can be used as an alternative to the ever popular Pocky; or if you’re sick and tired of Hello Panda you could go for this. But isn’t Pucca just Pucca?
Karate Kid, another Japanese fastfood chain here in the Philippines is probably only second to Tokyo Tokyo in its try-hard weeaboo ad campaign. We could very well say Karate Kid is Tokyo Tokyo’s cousin. Although they have quite an impressive menu, it gives me the impression that they are trying to please every market they can find because of their wide variety of food items.
