The World’s Most Successful Game Studios

UK-based video game trade magazine, Develop, has recently released their annual “Develop 100: The World’s Most Successful Game Studios.” This annual magazine lists down the 100 most profitable or bankable game studios based on sales data. This does not take into account the reception of the gaming population towards a specific flagship game. Guess who got top 1… No, it’s not Blizzard or Square Enix (much to my dismay). It’s NINTENDO.

With a huge sales margin during the past year and continually-increasing  sales for their Nintendo DS, their annual gross income has reached more than 200 million Pounds (or at least 300 million US Dollars).

Other studios that made the top 10 cut were Infinity Ward (Call of Duty), Ubisoft Montreal (Assassin’s Creed), Sega Japan and Capcom.

It’s strange to see notable game studios like Square and Atlus not making the cut considering their presence in the gaming market.

You can check out the digital magazine below (view it in Fullscreen), or visit the Develop 100′s Official site.
